The protesting that is being waged in the Wisconsin state house, which by the way is respectful and peaceful, is what I call democracy in action. For firefighters, police, city and town workers, whether they pick up the trash, fix the pot holes in the streets, they’re for the most part union workers. They love their jobs, out there to serve and help the public. It is great that they’re united in backing the protesting teachers, for what the governor is wanting to do is, do away with collective bargaining. All he wants to do is just allow them to get raises, and no bargaining as far as insurance, pensions and whatever else they get. Its not right what the governor wants to do, and he thinks he can get away with it. I hope the hell he don’t, because if he does, he will be a one term governor.
Then of course we have the right wing loons: Limbaugh, Beck and the rest of Fox News siding with the governor, who is a Republican. No surprise there. And speaking of Limbaugh, Friday this fat ass moron, called the union workers, “freeloaders”. Here’s a guy, who never finished his first year in college, who has other jobs, and now has been spewing right wing garbage on a daily basis, and he has the balls to call good, hard working union people freeloaders? Give it a rest, Rush.
Lets not forget the propagandists on Fox News being against the peaceful protesters, but yet when the Tea Party whack jobs show up with their misspelled signs, and their mind boggling nonsense they are good at throwing out too, Fox News makes sure that the Tea Partiers get due respect. Case in point. Back in 2009, when members of Congress was having Town Hall Meetings, to explain, and to take and answer questions, at most of the meetings, it was disgusting to watch these Tea Party jack asses, scream and shout, sometimes endlessly. Of course Fox News never called them out on that. On that point, Fox News is not a “Fair and Balanced News” channel. Never was. Never will be.
However long it takes to hopefully bring the Wisconsin governor to come to his senses, then the teachers will have the backing of union members from Maine to California. To all the teachers in Wisconsin, hold on to your convictions, and whatever you do, don’t cave in. Let your governor do that.
