Gary Younge an opinion writer for the Guardian, has written a great piece: will the Republican voters believe anything? I would venture to say yes, and as long they listen to gas bags like Limbaugh, Savage and the loons on Fox (Fraud) News, yes they will believe what they, even though it is just lies, and twisting the stories to their misguided version.

Interesting, yet predictable, article. Comments are just as interesting as I appreciated long comments by Mary and Perry.
Perpetuation of lies and myths both either side is always a concern to me. Then again, each guard their own special interests. Yet – the amount from the GOP’s right are head scratching.
A Tea Partier had an interesting comment in last Sunday’s adult class at church. With strong conviction, he said Cincinnati realtors could no longer use “family room” because of a variety of reasons. Of course strong conviction means he’s right. Well, I checked the websites of the areas largest realtors, and they still use “family room.”
Just a small example.
As for the GOP, they have seem to gone off the deep end, with their Obama bashing, and some of their crazy ideas just don’t go in the same wash as mine would.
I think this comment from the article best sums up the right’s problem. “The person they say they like the most, Sarah Palin, is also the one they believe is least qualified: only 29% believe she can actually do the job.”
They love stupid but they know stupid won’t win elections. Yet, in the immortal words of Forrest Gump “Stupid is, is stupid does”.
It’s almost farcical to champion stupid but then being forced to employ intelligence to perpetuate your ignorance.
It just astounds me, that there are people who still think that Palin would be a candidate. She would get blown away by Obama in a heart beat.
Good article – yes, Michele, we can hear you – too loudly and too clearly. Guts without knowledge makes for a bad politician. Just look at Bush and Iraq.
I might add Bush and Afghanistan, and we still haven’t caught Bin Laden.
