When Florida Governor Rick Scott refused to take money from the Obama administration for high speed rail, he said that it would ‘create Palinsque like death panels’. He’s the same governor who said ‘that if Florida accepted the money, and built the rail line, there would be a catch to it.’ In essence, the state of Florida would end up paying for it, which was not true.
Walker of Wisconsin, came up with some lame excuse not to take the money, to improve the rail system between Milwaukee and Madison, so as to cut down on the length of time.
So the money they refused to take, along with Ohio, some of that money was awarded to Massachusetts, Maine and a couple of other states, that want to improve their rail lines.
I’m hopeful that the voters in the Republican states, either recall, or vote them out in 2012, and never to be heard from again.
As one who lives in Mean Ass Jesus Country, I can tell you there aren’t enough Democratic voters in these particular parts. Now the money Republicans can be lured…if there’s money involved, i.e. lottery or something to bait them with. Otherwise, green energy in Alabama will remain going barefoot.
Here in Massachusetts, all 10 Reps in the House are Democrats, and the Senate is Kerry (D) and Brown (R). Our governor is a Democrat, and most of the Mass House and Senate are Democrats. I guess we are one of the few states that are this way.
So far, there are four Democrats running against centerfold boy Brown.
I visited Boston a few years ago and fell in love. What a beautiful city.
Did you go across the river to Cambridge, and visit Harvard Sq?
