Government
Ninety eight percent of the adults in this country are decent, hardworking, honest Americans. It’s the other lousy two percent that get all the publicity. But then, we elected them.
Lily Tomlin
Dwight David Eisenhower Quote
I think that people want peace so much that one of these days government had better get out of their way and let them have it.

Obama Walks Out Of Tense Debt Ceiling Talks
President Obama walked out of the Debt Ceiling meeting, as Eric Cantor was being very rude. It was reported that Cantor interrupted Obama three times, while the President was wrapping things up. Canto claims that Obama stormed out, but Nancy Pelosi says that is not true, and was really pissed off on how Cantor was acting. By the way, Cantor has already walked out twice on Obama. Cantor should grow up, act like an adult, or get the hell out of Washington.

Sunlight Foundation – A Highly Recommended Website
I highly recommend the Sunlight Foundation website. It has a vast amount of tools resources, like tracking your governor, senator, house rep., and see how much money they get from different organizations and other places.
The Sunlight Foundation has been online since 2005, and one of the things they stress is for open transparency, not only in the federal government, but also the state(s) governments too. You can also sign up for e-mail updates.

Roll Call: Ryan Defends Budget Blueprint
House Republican Paul Ryan defends his budget blueprint, medicare overhaul.
In a speech before the Economic Club of Chicago, the Wisconsin Republican maintained, “We cannot avert a debt crisis unless we directly address the rising cost of health.”
snip—
Ryan said his plan to overhaul Medicare would “give power to deny business to inefficient providers. [Democrats] plan is to give government the power to deny care to seniors.”
Fukuyama Rethinking Iraq / Big Think
Interesting video on Big Think by Philosopher and Political Theorist, Francis Fukuyama on the rethinking of the Iraq War. He does make some valid points concerning the Bush administration.
Fukuyama was a neoconservative, but no longer believes in it.
Republican Governors are Jealous of Obama
When Florida Governor Rick Scott refused to take money from the Obama administration for high speed rail, he said that it would ‘create Palinsque like death panels’. He’s the same governor who said ‘that if Florida accepted the money, and built the rail line, there would be a catch to it.’ In essence, the state of Florida would end up paying for it, which was not true.
Walker of Wisconsin, came up with some lame excuse not to take the money, to improve the rail system between Milwaukee and Madison, so as to cut down on the length of time.
So the money they refused to take, along with Ohio, some of that money was awarded to Massachusetts, Maine and a couple of other states, that want to improve their rail lines.
I’m hopeful that the voters in the Republican states, either recall, or vote them out in 2012, and never to be heard from again.
The Right Wing Loons Came Out in Full Force in Greenville, SC
Before the first so-called Republican debate in Greenville, SC the right wing loons had a Tea Party rally, and among them were the Oath Keepers. They have what they call the 10 points of rules that in essence, are rules and laws not to be obeyed. Read them. Its crazy and quite frankly scary.
Some of the speakers were; SC Governor Nicki Haley, Roy Moore of the 10 Commandments fame, and a few other whack jobs.
David Koch Says Obama is a Hardcore Socialist
In a piece in The Raw Story, David Koch says Obama is a “Hardcore Socialist” and also stated that he is scary. He made these and other remarks to New York Magazine. He also said that Obama deserved no credit for the killing of bin Laden. Just another fool making the I’m not giving Obama credit for anything bullshit tour.
Where is the Moral Ground?
Richard Rodriguez wrote in New America Media; when the president made the announcement that Osama Bin-Laden was killed, there was an out pouring of college age students, rushing to the White House chanting USA, USA, USA.
I never was one to wave the flag, wrap myself in the flag, or do the USA chant, which I believe started back in 1980, when the US beat the Soviets in hockey. Since then it has gotten very jingoistic, and at times out of hand.
Prove It
Eugene Robinson has wrote an essay in Truthout, about the birtherism crap. He makes some very good points, and I agree, that it still bothers quite a few people that Obama is president. Obama won the 2008 election hands down, so the birther morons should get a life.
Palin on the Debt Ceiling
Sarah Palin the world renown economist, said on Fox News (where else), “Hell No” to raising the debt ceiling. Of course she went on and on and…well you get the picture.
Afraid To Face Angry Voters, Rep. Paul Ryan Sneaks Out A Back Door After Raucous Town Hall
Paul Ryan can take the heat at his ‘town hall meetings’ as he slipped out another door after the meeting was over, because the car he came in was surrounded by angry protesters. He also got upset, because the people in the hall, were getting loud, and he asked them to tone it down, or else they can leave. But it was alright when the Democrats were being heckled and shouted down, by the Tea Party jerks.

Ayn Rand Movie Fails in Free Market (Despite Tea Party Hype)
The movie Atlas Shrugged, based on the book by Ayn Rand, is not attracting the movie goers, like the Tea Party was hoping it would. Quite a few movie reviewers have already panned it as more or less a dull, boring film.

Via AlterNet – Koch Brothers
According an article in AlterNet, the Koch Bros, had packets given to all their employees on who to vote for, in the 2010 elections. 50,000 employees were given the packets. Also in the article, the brothers would like to see the minimum wage disappear. Nothing is beneath these guys. They’ll do just about anything to have it their own way.
This Should be Required Reading for all the Tea Partiers

Harry Truman Has Some Advice For Paul Ryan

Sensitive Republicans are all verklempt at how mean Obama was to poor Paul Ryan: Waaaaahmbulance, stat!
When the Republicans like to call out on the Democrats, they seem to think its an okay thing to do. But when the shoe is on the other foot, they cry foul, and thinks its disrespectful. They’ve been acting like that for years, and still don’t get it.
Case in point, watching the video, Joe Scarborough makes his point uninterrupted. Towards the end, Mika Brzezinski is trying to give her opinion, all good old Republican Joe kept doing was talking over her, and kept trying to interrupt her. This seems to go on all the time.

Did you know that Jesus was a fiscal conservative? That’s a new one to ponder, as the Religious Right seems to think so.
There’s a plan in the works to merge the Religious Right with the Tea Party. This ought to be interesting. Two different sets of whack jobs merging.

Something is Rotten in the State of Wisconsin: 7,500 New GOP Votes From ‘Human Error’. Shouldn’t DOJ Step In?
This smells a lot like what happened in the 2000 Florida debacle. The Waukesha County clerk announced the results in the Wisconsin Supreme Court election was mistaken, and she came up the new vote tally for that county. The DOJ should be looking into her shenanigans, as she has been in deep shit before, and to me she is not one to be trusted.
