Representative James McGovern a Massachusetts Democrat, says the following quote about cuts concerning Social Security:
“I’m frustrated as hell that you’ve got members of Congress talking about cutting benefits for Social Security recipients when they had nothing to do with this economic mess we’re in.”
I agree with his quote, as the Social Security tax that we the workers have been, some still paying into it, has nothing to do with the deficit, as it is separate from the overall budget.
So why are the Republicans so adamantly for cutting back or killing SS? Do they think we are living the high life? Not.
One think the Republicans don’t want to do is piss off granny, as they will come back right at you.
The AARP has endorsed benefit cuts, which is not a good thing. Here’s an organization that is supposed to be doing things to help the retired and the elderly, and now it looks like they want to help kick them to the curb.
